The Laura E. Sullivan/ Congratulations Scholarship
Winners!
The 2001 Laura Sullivan/CSTOCK Memorial Scholarship awards were made at the May 19 performance of PIPPIN at CSTOCK in Silverdale. These awards were the result of an application process and auditions held before a panel of nine judges. First place award of $500 was given to Jacob Parkinson, South Kitsap High School. Jake has participated in productions at PAGSK, Evergreen Children's Theatre, Gig Harbor Theatre, and CSTOCK, in addition to drama programs at Bethany Lutheran School and at South Kitsap High School. He has also been involved in choral music for 9 years and is a member of the South Kitsap Highlighters and the chamber choir. Jake plans on attending Ithaca College in New York in the fall as a musical theatre major. The $250 second place award was given to Joshua Kluth, graduate of Olympic High School and currently a freshman at Ball State University as a theatre major. Josh began his theatre experiences at CSTOCK and since has been in 16 musicals here, in addition to performances at Bremerton Community Theatre, Olympic High School, and Ball State University. The $500 CSTOCK Technical Support/Musician Scholarship was awarded to Bremerton High School graduate Teal Guidici. Teal has been a musician (harp and flute) in the orchestra for CSTOCK for several shows, and also plays piano. She has performed on stage for both CSTOCK and BCT, has worked in the light booth at BCT, and had some experience in directing at Olympic College. Teal plans to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a math and science major, and at the same time perform with musical arts groups at the university. The May 19 performance of PIPPIN was designated as a fundraiser night with all box office proceeds given to the scholarship fund.
