Receiving the $500 award for the Laura Sullivan Scholarship was Olympic High School senior Joshua Kluth. Josh began his theatre experiences at CSTOCK and has been in 16 musicals. In addition to his very active participation in theatre, he has been active in student leadership as Senior Class President, was a varsity wrestler for 5 years, and performed in the chamber choir and vocal jazz ensemble. Josh plans to continue his education at college, majoring in musical theatre.
Receiving the $250 award for the Laura Sullivan Scholarship was 1999 Bremerton High School graduate Forrest Card. Forrest also participated in the theatre program playing major roles in Bremerton High School productions of West Side Story, Grease, Oliver, MASH, and Kiss Me Kate. He was selected to participate in Knights Down Under, an elite performing group of students who wrote, choreographed, and directed their own material, and as part of the group toured Australia in the summer of 1999, and was selected outstanding theatre student during his senior year. Forrest was active in student leadership as ASB Treasurer, Leo's Club Vice President, and member of National Honor Society. He plans on attending the Art Center College of Design next fall, majoring in illustration and animation.
Receiving the Ray Abundis Theatre Arts scholarship award of $500 was Trevor Iwaszuk, graduating this year from South Kitsap High School. Trevor has been performing in community theatre since the age of 6, participating at BCT and at PAG, but primarily at CSTOCK since playing the lead role in Peter Pan six years ago. In addition to his on-stage performances in several productions, Trevor has directed, choreograpahed, worked sound, and designed lights for numerous productions at South Kitsap High School, at CSTOCK, and at the Dance Gallery in Port Orchard. Trevor has been the student member of the Board of Directors for over 2 years where he has involved himself primarily with the lighting and sound systems. He also designed and maintains the CSTOCK webpage. Trevor plans to attend the University of Washington as a computer science major, also planning to continue his education in theatre arts with either a minor or a second major.
