101.3 : Treasurer

ROLE:

Together with other Board members:
  • Govern the theatre organization within the parameters of its Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and state/federal laws that govern nonprofit Organizations
  • Conduct the operations of the theatre organization
  • Serve as an ambassador and advocate for CSTOCK

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all funds and securities of the corporation
  • Record the deposit of all funds in the name of the corporation in banks or other depositories as decided by the Board of Directors
  • Receive monies due and payable to the corporation
  • Disburse funds of CSTOCK as directed by the Board of Directors, requiring proper paperwork for request of payment
  • Keep and maintain adequate and correct accounts of the corporation
  • Pick up (or designate a volunteer) all corporate mail, at least weekly, and act on the routine financial matters of the corporation in a timely manner (paying the bills)
  • Prepare a monthly report for Board meetings with copies to each Board member and a transaction report for the President
  • Participate in an annual internal audit of the books and exhibit the records as requested by the President
  • Prepare an annual Internal Revenue Service Tax Return and other forms as required by state and federal agencies; prepare the paperwork for the Washington State Annual Corporate License and Annual Report
  • Conduct the financial aspects of the corporation, in such a manner as not to place in jeopardy the non-profit [501 (C) 3] status of the corporation
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of a CSTOCK Board member
  • Advocate for CSTOCK within the community
  • Assist with the orientation of new Board members
  • Assist the President in facilitating problem-solving and resolution of disputes brought to the Board
  • Resource and support for Committee chairpersons

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • Term of office is two (2) years and can be renewed
  • Twelve (12) monthly Board meetings
  • Theatre Manager for one or two performances of each production (5 per year)
  • Annual Study Session or Board retreat (7 - 8 hours)
  • Attendance at fundraising and special events
  • Attendance at committee meetings, as required
  • Time required to fulfill the responsibilities of Treasurer

QUALIFICATIONS:

A member of the Board of Directors in good standing with the interest and ability to assume the responsibilities outlined for Treasurer
