The Spotlight's on Cindy Littlefield

CSTOCK has had one of the best advocates on their board of directors for over 17 years! We're sorry to see Cindy step down from the board but as you can see she will continue to work at the theatre as her time permits. Thank you Cindy for all your dedication, hard work and service to CSTOCK, our childrens programs and to the greater Central Kitsap arts community!

Seventeen years is a LONG time! It is time for me to step down from the Board of Directors and pursue other ventures that have been put on hold for some time. One of those ventures will be a lavender/herb business, "Lavender Sisters," with my sister, Elaine Wecker.

In 1986 Dennis South, Founding Director, invited me on the Board of a Musical Comedy Theatre that had an emphasis on children ("Kids for Kids"). Just finding a location was a huge endeavor not to mention all the equipment that needed to be purchased, etc. For the first five years, an annual Champagne Auction at the Silverdale Hotel helped to raise the money needed to support the theatre. Businesses in Silverdale and throughout Kitsap County were very generous in donating items for the auction. Larry Stokes and his family contributed their time to auctioneer this big event. In these first few years, we moved from location to location . Central Kitsap Jr. High, the Jenne Wright Building, Old Sears building in Bremerton, Kitsap Mall and the Central Kitsap High School. Finally, with the help of Billie Eder, former County Commissioner, we were able to secure a real home in the Silverdale Community Center.

As you can see, CSTOCK was so fortunate to have so many people involved in making it a success and I am proud to have been a part of these endeavors. My community focus has always been on the youth. I feel very strongly that theatre is vital to our children and young adults. It will benefit them in any profession and prepare them for the future. Just seeing the transition from a timid, shy child to a confidant, self-assured individual is worth all the work. Dennis South always would reiterate "there are no small parts, only small actors". The impact that CSTOCK has had on our community will continue to grow, right alongside the children that pass through here.

I will continue my involvement with CSTOCK in other capacities and will always cherish the wonderful memories and friends I have made here throughout the years.
