What they are doing now...
We heard recently from two former CSTOCK regulars who are
living their dreams:
Deanna Dewell performed on the CSTOCK stage in the first
production of The Wizard of Oz, The Music Man, The Boyfriend, Little
Miss Sunshine, Chicago, and Robin Hood before graduating from CKHS
in 1991. She attended several universities in between her foreign travels to
Australia and Japan, eventually graduating from the University of Washington with a major
in psychology and a minor in music.
At the present time Deanna works for the Animal Behavior Research
Unit through Englan's Cambridge University and is assigned to Mikumi National Park in
Tanzania. She studiens the yellow babboons and documents vegetation in the area.
Accommodations are rather primitive there - no electricity after 6 pm., no
telephone, computer or television, no hot water for showers. She has learned Swahili
so she can converse witht the natives there. She is rather isolated, but the animals
roam all over and have even ventured into her modest home.
Megan Magden, a 1997 graduate of Bremerton High School, is
currently attending the University of Washington as a music major. The past year she
performed in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Summer West Workshop, and was
invitied to perform for a theatre group in Leipzeig, Germany in August. Megan
appeared on the CSTOCK stage in productions of Dawgpatch U.S.A., Adventures
in Wonderland, Show Boat, Peter Pan, Fame, Gypsy,
Company, and My Fair Lady, and was the 1997 Sullivan Scholarship winner. |
