I attended elementary school in California, junior high in California and Washington, high school in California and Washington, and graduated from West High School in Bremerton, Washington Class of 1973.
I did the normal school plays and church pageants in elementary and junior high. In high school I was in the little known Christian Rock musical "Up, Up With People" at the church I attended then in Gorst, WA and "Pffifers People" at West High School. The auditorium in Coontz Junior had been condemned my freshman year and the District did not have the traditional combined East/West High musicals during my time at West HS.
I attended Olympic College in Bremerton and majored in Theater and received an Associate of Arts Degree.
From Aug. 1976-Aug. 1978 I spent two years in El Salvador, Central America as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which has been the most influential experience of my life behind only my marriage and the birth of my children.
I studied Musical Theater at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
I studied Spanish and Theater at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho.
I spent time studying Drama at the University of Washington in Seattle while I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Literature. I then completed the Teacher Certification Program at UW and became a teacher.
I taught High School Spanish in the Seattle Public Schools for many years. I taught English as a Second Language at Shelton Middle School; Spanish, Bilingual Study Skills, & Freshman English at Shelton High School; and served as the Coordinator of Bilingual Education and the Coordinator of Migrant Programs at both schools.
I returned to UW and completed a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and the Danforth School Administrator Certification Program.
I became an Assistant Principal at Cleveland High School in Seattle Public Schools.
I then became Assistant Principal at Clover Park High School in the Clover Park School District in Lakewood, WA.
Next I went to the Toppenish School District in Toppenish, WA where I was an Assistant Principal at both the Toppenish Middle and High Schools.
Currently I teach Spanish at CK High School in the Central Kitsap School District in Silverdale, WA.
