Apply to become a Member of the Board
ROLE: (Together with other Board members)
- Govern the theatre organization within the parameters of its Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and state/federal laws that govern nonprofit Organizations.
- Conduct the operations of the theatre organization.
- Serve as an ambassador and advocate for CSTOCK
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend a minimum of 8 monthly Board meetings
- Establish and enforce policies
- Approve annual budget and maintain fiscal/fiduciary responsibility
- Provide financial oversight and stability for the theater
- Determine and evaluate progress toward achieving long-range goals
- Recruit volunteer staff
- Represent CSTOCK as an advocate and ambassador within the community
- Serve as House Manager one or two nights of each production (5 per year)
- Attend study or special sessions of the Board
- Serve as a member on designated committees, as needed
- Sign Community Service Forms when needed
TIME COMMITMENT:
- Term of office is four (4) years and can be renewed
- Twelve (12) monthly Board meetings
- House Manager for one or two performances of each production (5 per year)
- Annual Study Session or Board retreat (7 - 8 hours)
- Attendance at fundraising events
- Attendance at committee meetings, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated interest in the theatre organization, sufficient time to carry out duties, leadership potential, specific skills/knowledge/experience in at least one area of responsibility (facilities, finance, strategic planning, public relations, fundraising, show production, volunteer recruitment).
